Lauren was the first graduate student in the lab and finished in August 2017 with a MS degree. The title of her thesis was, "Social outcomes of coastal ecosystem management: the role of stakeholder values and norms" and she worked in Martha's Vineyard - access it here. Lauren is currently enjoying some much earned vacation and travel time!
Max finished his BS degree in Natural Resource Economics in May 2017 and earned many awards for his exceptional performance in the classroom. While in the lab group, Max looked at what effects different fishing gears had on coral reef fish assemblages in Lombok, Indonesia. He is currently a Research Associate at California Environmental Associates in San Francisco and enjoying the West Coast.
Jack graduated URI in May 2017 with a BS degree in Marine Biology. At graduation he was awarded the highest honors for his GPA. While in the lab, he worked on coral reef restoration data entry and analyses, learning how to code in R. Jack is starting a MS degree studying coral adaptation to climate change with Dr. Peter Edmunds at California State University, Northridge.
Aditi joined the lab during the summer of 2016 between her Freshman and Sophomore years at URI as part of the Coastal Fellows program. She learned how to code in R and looked at fisheries catch in Tanimbar Kei, Indonesia - see her poster here. Aditi is currently studying Marine Biology and hopes to rejoin the lab in her Senior year to gain more experience with data analysis.
