I am interested in habitat connectivity, functional diversity, and trophic interactions in tropical marine ecosystems. For my PhD work, I will be examining these questions using molecular and -omics approaches in the small-scale coral reef fisheries of Indonesia. I look forward to collaborating with local universities to establish baselines, communicate science, and learn more about seafood security and fisheries management.
I graduated from Rice University with a BS in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology in May 2018. My senior thesis focused on quantifying fish biodiversity in mangrove, seagrass, coral reef, and sand habitats of Bocas del Toro, Panama using environmental DNA and visual surveys. I am originally from Houston, Texas, and enjoy dancing, live music, and exploring new places.
