Lauren Josephs

My role in the lab is a diverse one, encompassing everything from developing proposals, writing manuscripts, analyzing project data, and collaborating with research partners, to managing budgets, purchasing, and travel. My research interests are similarly diverse and include all things social-ecological, but in particular the efficacy of integrated management and the connections between outcomes for humans and outcomes for ecosystems under specific management plans. My interdisciplinary spirit is fueled here in the Humphries Lab as I get to contribute to projects with research topics ranging from small-scale fisheries management to multi-trophic aquaculture.

Before coming on as a Research Associate, I was the Humphries Lab's very first graduate student where I earned my MS studying the role of social variables in predicting support for nature-based coastal management strategies. Prior to that I completed a BS in Marine Biology as a student in Northeastern University's Three Seas Program. When I'm not in the office you can find me pursuing my ever-evolving list of hobbies; right now it's home improvement projects and scenic painting for local theaters.
